Good Money goes up in smoke
Why would any Londoner want to pay Boris Johnson & the GLA £10 to go out onto their own streets to see a fireworks display that has been funded using their money?
Boris & the GLA are demanding payment of £10 each ticket
London's New Year's Eve fireworks display is to be limited to a viewing area of 100,000 ticketed spectators for the first time.
So that's 100,000 X £10 +£1000,000
Why aren't tickets free?
The £10 charge per ticket covers the costs of implementing the ticketing system.WTF?It would also seem that it is a mass promotion for people to watch the BBC
Please note that if you do not have a ticket you cannot come to the fireworks. You can watch the display live on BBC1 but it will not be screened in Trafalgar Square or Parliament Square. In addition, access to St James’s Park will be restricted with the eastern side closed from 4pm.

From 12:00 all access to Parliament Square will be closed, and all
roads will be reopened once safe to do so.
"It would be a scandal if any families were denied access to the event due to the introduction of ticket prices," she added.
Barriers have been used to form viewing areas for the fireworks in previous years, but for the first time people will be denied entry to those areas unless they have a ticket. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-29234879
Your comments
We want to know what you think of the fireworks
and its new format - whether you’re a ticket holder or not. This will help us
plan next year’s event and improve your NYE experience.
Can’t wait? Send us your comments now
Comments will help us evaluate the NYE Fireworks, but won’t be individually responded to. If you want a reply, or have a question for us please emailIs there a sponsor for the event?
No (Yes you) we do not have a sponsor for this year’s event. Sponsorship would allow us to add to the overall experience of the event but it does not pay for any of the essential elements of the evening. There is a core budget to deliver this spectacular event, which is enjoyed by millions of people across the UK and promotes London around the world.
The event has not been scaled back nor will it be shorter than planned. We will of course be seeking to secure sponsorship for this high profile internationally acclaimed show in future years.
More privatization of Public services
When I see the display on TV, it looks great, like everything is running smoothly. How can you say there are crowd problems?
Whilst the event has always run smoothly, the increasing numbers of attendees each year has meant that the growth rate is unsustainable. The event began in its current form in 2003 by attracting just 100,000 people but now regularly attracts upwards of 500,000 revellers. It is hard to appreciate the size of these large crowds when watching on television.
We are bringing in this new measure in order to create a safe and enjoyable event for the long term.
Who will be managing the event?
Security at the event will be primarily managed by around 2,500 trained stewards who will focus on ticketing and immediate crowd safety management. Can I purchase tickets from Resellers?
We can only guarantee entry with tickets purchased via the official ticket supplier SeeTickets and the original ticket buyer must bring valid ID with them.We strongly recommend that you do not buy tickets from resellers as we cannot guarantee their authenticity or your entry to the event.
So why are they selling on EBay?

I purchased tickets but can no longer attend - can I give them to a friend or family member?
Unfortunately not, tickets are non-transferable.http://nye.london.gov.uk/get-involved/events/nye-faq-78
